Indianapolis, IN 46202
United States
Description
The Datalys Center's goal is to promote health and physical activity through safer sports, military training, and other activities. Concussion, the signature wound of the Afghanistan and Iraq wars, is a fundamental concern facing the Datalys Center, the U.S. military, the sports community, and society at large. Partnering with Indiana University, University of Michigan and the Medical College of Wisconsin, and with funding from the Department of Defense and the National Collegiate Athletic Association, the Datalys Center is involved in the seminal study aimed at understanding the natural history of concussion in student-athletes and military cadets. The National Collegiate Athletic Association and the Department of Defense have led the way in advancing the science of concussion over the past 20 years, supporting discoveries that have had major influences on domestic and international guidelines for best practice in the evaluation and management of concussions.
